The Scribner Writers Series provides students, teachers, and other researchers access to works of important authors from around the world and from all time periods. Each entry includes a concise essay and biographical information that places the author's work in personal and historical context. The essays also reflect the range and variety of approaches in literary study, balancing cultural history and literary biography with thorough analyses of individual major works. The series is designed to work the way students conduct literary research; therefore, students can go directly to an entry on a specific author, combine search criteria for a much more complex search, or explore thematic and chronological topics to make connections among writers.
