Perusall is a social learning platform that prepares students for class. The platform combines textual, video, and audio course materials with collaborative annotation tools to ensure students learn more, come to class prepared, and are more engaged in their learning experience. It enables you to teach more effectively, understand student misconceptions, structure class discussion, and save time. It is based on extensive behavioral research at Harvard University and has been used by more than four million students in 112 countries.

• Perusall turns often-skipped solitary course assignments into engaging group activities, motivating students to participate. Students collectively annotate each assignment — asking questions and upvoting each other’s comments, or sharing new ideas and solving problems.
• Perusall's autoscoring system efficiently grades students’ comments and questions and populates the gradebook. Analytics provide insights into student performance and thinking. Perusall provides you with a simple "confusion report" that summarizes areas your students misunderstood, disagreed with each other about, or were most engaged with.  
• Perusall encourages students to continue the conversation about the assignment with notifications by email when other students send a direct message, answer their questions or upvote their comments.
