How 1EdTech Members Power Learner Potential
Standardizing technology, improving educator access, and increasing understanding of edtech, is how Darlington County Schools hope to improve equity, while still enabling personalization in the classroom. By pairing down tools used in the district, and leveraging 1EdTech community resources, educators can dive deeper into resources to get the most out of them, students and teachers don’t have to lose instructional time learning new technology, and schools across the county have access to the same high-quality, highly-relevant, and vetted resources while keeping the flexibility teachers need to serve different students.
“For the most part, all of the tools and applications available are good. Our job is to decide what works best for our community and commit to implementing and supporting those resources well. That way, if a student or educator transfers from one school to another, they don’t waste time learning new technology.”
Our 1EdTech membership makes it easier for Darlington County Schools to break down siloes and bring technology and curriculum departments together so they can purchase educational technology with intention. Through the TrustEd Apps Management Suite (TAMS) and the TrustEd Apps Certified Leader (TACL) program, technology and curriculum departments come together to select resources that serve educational needs, without adding unnecessary burden or risk to teachers and students in the classrooms.
“When we purchase one item, it can affect multiple systems, and that can hurt student learning. We need to ensure we are making purchases with intent, that we can implement with fidelity, and that we can monitor over time. Our engagement with the 1EdTech member community helps us accomplish our goals.”
