P1 - Does the supplier provide a demonstration of accessibility (features) as part of the sales process?
ANSWER: Led by accessibility and/or technical staff; deep dive that includes discussion of conformance testing (including significant detail) and compatibility with commonly used assistive technology.
User Notes:
The Curriculum Associates Accessibility & Accommodations Resource Hub (https://www.curriculumassociates.com/reviews/ireadyaccessibility) houses helpful documents and resources, such as FAQs, feature overviews, and video demonstrations. This aggregate site is provided to customers during the sales process. We regularly update our documentation and resources with releases to reflect reductions in exceptions and new gains . Our Accessibility Feature videos were created in response to customers asking for a quicker way to access important accessibility information. Accessibility team members developed video scripts and recordings to provide a standardized demonstration of the accessibility features available in our products. We took this approach as it’s not feasible for our Accessibility team members to join individual customer demonstration calls. In cases where there’s a need for more detailed demonstrations or support, we have a process for customers to submit questions or request calls with the Accessibility team.

P2 - How are accessibility gaps identified?
ANSWER: There is a comprehensive strategy employed by the supplier to include qualified accessibility professionals, native users of assistive technology, third party accessibility consultants and others to reflect a variety of experiences.
User Notes:
We have integrated accessibility considerations into our design process from the very beginning and have trained our quality assurance and development teams on accessibility so that requirements not being met can be tracked and addressed as bugs. We also have a detailed triage process for addressing cases, questions, and feedback from customers about accessibility features. Our test plan includes primarily manual testing with a minority of WCAG criteria (less than 30%) being tested using automated systems. The automated systems are used to provide an overview of certain WCAG criteria issues that will then be tested manually to ensure accuracy. To date, our ACRs/VPATs have been produced internally, but we are shifting this work, and additional auditing beyond that which we do internally, to Perkins Access and/or other approved third-party partners moving forward. The third parties in question will have their own test plans and procedures and are approved by internal Curriculum Associates accessibility specialists. Test results will be provided to internal teams and documented in our Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) along with any remaining issues and timelines for remediation. Our ACRs are updated when any corrective action has taken place to ensure accuracy in our accessibility documentation.

P4 - Does the supplier have a process for customers to report accessibility specific concerns and issues?
ANSWER: Supplier provides a dedicated accessibility related customer and/or technical support mechanism. Timelines for responses by the accessibility related support are provided.
User Notes:
Our dedicated accessibility team has a detailed triage process for addressing cases, questions, and feedback from customers about accessibility features. Customer support teams route this information to our team and we, in turn, develop guidance that addresses the customers’ needs regarding accessibility and accommodations. A core aspect of our accessibility work also includes tracking and analyzing the customer cases, calls, and feedback we receive. By aggregating and codifying this data, we are able to distill major themes and trends that help guide important accessibility and usability product decisions and inform roadmap plans. Our approach to this work was featured in a session at the 2024 CSUN Assistive Technology Conference (https://www.curriculumassociates.com/blog/using-feedback-to-improve-product-accessibility).

C03 - Does the supplier integrate accessibility testing into the product management process, including manual and automated testing?
ANSWER: Full accessibility evaluations, including automatic and manual assessments, are conducted.
User Notes:
In evaluating our products’ WCAG compliance, we use a representative sample of content across all domains, grades , item types, or functionality. For criterion where we have support or partial support listed, WCAG requirements have been vetted by a quality assurance team for a subset of items. Our evaluations are done primarily through manual testing, with less than 30% of WCAG criteria being tested using automated systems. The automated systems are used to provide an overview of certain WCAG criteria issues that will then be tested manually to ensure accuracy. We also work in collaboration with Perkins Access as an external accessibility advisor on verifying accessibility conformance through thorough and effective accessibility testing. To date, our ACRs/VPATs have been produced internally, but we are shifting this work, and additional auditing beyond that which we do internally, to Perkins Access and/or other approved third-party partners moving forward.

A1 - Does the product allow for individual personalization of the interface and other capabilities (user preferences)?
ANSWER: Some personalization is possible but limited.
User Notes:
Users have access to some personalization of universal accessibility features, such as: closed captions, audio support, audio auto-play, audio descriptions, and text unlocking of Reading Comprehension lessons. At this time, we do not have an embedded option to change or customize the display of information on the screen, such as font size or style, colors of text or backgrounds, highlighting, audio playback speed, or line guides. However, such customization options will be available as early as Back-to-School 2025 in the i-Ready Classroom Mathematics’ Student Bookshelf. We hope to apply options to change and customize the display of information on the screen across more i-Ready products in the future.
